Man United fans all say the same thing after Amad Diallo update – ‘let’s pray’
Amad Diallo could be back from injury ahead of schedule in a “huge boost” for Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side.
Amad has been one of very few bright sparks at Old Trafford over the course of a campaign which has been marred by Erik ten Hag being sacked and Amorim’s doomed tenure so far, albeit the end is in sight.
Man United remain in contention to potentially salvage their entire season in the form of Europa League success, however, and a title in Bilbao will book Amorim‘s side a spot in next term’s Champions League.
Final hosts Athletic Bilbao stand in the Red Devils’ way of a potential decider, but ahead of facing the Basque side in their semi-final, Amorim has received two potentially huge injury boosts to his squad.

Key duo return to Man United training ahead of Bilbao clash
Matthijs de Ligt’s performances in his first season at Old Trafford haven’t been met with universal praise, but United’s defence is undoubtedly weaker without the Dutchman as one third of Amorim’s back three.
Amad, however, has been missed to a greater degree as one of the Red Devils’ most significant outlets in the final third, and Man United fans went into meltfown after his season appeared to be over in February.
Player | Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists | Games Missed |
Amad Diallo | 36 | 24 | 9 | 8 | 15 |
On 30 April though, Sky Sports reported on X that the duo were back in full training at Carrington, and shared footage of both De Ligt and Amad as part of the main group one day before their clash in Bilbao.
Amorim and Diallo had both shared positive updates on his ankle injury prior to United’s quarter-final second leg against Lyon, and with the final potentially just 180 minutes away, his return could be timely.

Amad return a ‘huge boost’ for Man United with Bilbao ‘shaking’
Amad’s return from injury can’t come soon enough for Man United fans, with the Ivorian’s performances being one of few genuine bright spots that supporters will be able to take away from a torrid campaign.
Amorim will be under no illusions that victory over Athletic could come much easier (if at all) with a fit Amad in his side, and some supporters on social media said that “Bilbao’s defence is alread shaking”.
Other fans argued that with Amad back in the XI, the “goat is back” at Old Trafford, with a genuine belief that “the Europa League is ours” if the 22-year-old can return to United in the form he has promised.
Welcome back Amaaaaaaaad ✊❤️😚

Amad has averaged 0.90 goal creating actions p90 in the Premier League this season, the best rate of any player to have played 1,500 minutes or more.
