Man United fans rage at ‘horrific’ Garnacho after what they saw v Fulham

Man United fans have raged at the performance of Alejandro Garnacho during their FA Cup fifth round clash v Fulham at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim’s side were eliminated from the FA Cup on penalties after the first 90 minutes ended 1-1, with a late first-half header from Calvin Bassey and a fantastic equaliser from Bruno Fernandes.

Extra time saw Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno pull off an impressive stop to keep his side in it, before the game eventually went to penalties.

However, much of the home fans’ attention was fixed on Garnacho and his performance after he was introduced from the bench shortly into the second half.

The 20-year-old had a couple of chances to win the game for his side, including in the closing stages of normal time, but failed to take his opportunities.

His finishing, particularly under pressure, has often been a cause of frustration for the home crowd at Old Trafford and those concerns were raised again against Fulham.

As a result, many have been questioning his role in the side and whether Amorim should be relying on his impact off the bench as much as they have in recent weeks.

Man United could lose Alejandro Garnacho after Chelsea latest

Having started the game from the bench again for the clash with Fulham, speculation is likely to increase surrounding the 20-year-old’s long-term future at Old Trafford.

Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Garnacho could quit Man United in the summer amid concerns about his playing time.

That came following intense speculation surrounding the winger in the January transfer window, as both Chelsea and Napoli looked to sign the Man United star.

Speculation and links to a move away from Old Trafford is expected to ignite again in the summer as interest in his performances has remained strong.

Alejandro Garnacho labelled ‘shocking’ after Fulham display

Fans have often been left frustrated by the winger as a result of his questionable end-product and inconsistency – particularly in the final third.

However, Brown told Football Insider last month that United and Amorim are pleased to have kept Garnacho after he has impressed in training.

Now, taking to social media following the clash against Fulham, supporters have once again criticised the winger’s performance, labelling him “horrific” and “shocking”.
