Nmecha spent 14 years in Manchester City’s academy but never made a senior appearance before moving to Wolfsburg in 2021.

After impressing in the Bundesliga, he joined Dortmund in 2023, where he has registered three goals and two assists in 27 appearances across all competitions this season.

As a versatile midfielder who can operate in both central and defensive roles, Nmecha could be a strong addition to United’s squad. Technical director Jason Wilcox, who previously worked as City’s academy chief, would have been familiar with him from his time at the club.
