Man United man deserves lifetime football ban after ’embarrassing’ development – pundit
The Man United staff member behind the club’s pursuit of Adrien Rabiot and Marko Arnautovic should be “banned from working for any other football club”.
That is the view of former Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s “embarrassing” moves in the transfer window.
The Athletic reported earlier this week (9 August) that Man United had pulled out of a deal to sign Arnautovic due to fan concern and Bologna’s demands.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday (11 August) that Rabiot’s camp was set to meet with John Murtough on Friday (12 August) to discuss a possible move from Juventus.
“Rabiot is a panic signing,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They are looking at the [Frenkie] De Jong signing, they’ve chased him for two months and he’s not going to go there, Rabiot is a panic buy.
“He’s an OK player but his career has gone downhill in the last few years.
“Arnautovic was an insult to Man United. He’s an OK player but even when he was at his best at West Ham, he wasn’t good enough for Man United.
“Nevermind at 33 years old now when he took a year off to go to China.
“It just shows they are desperate and are going for panic buys.

“They’ve had [Odion] Ighalo, they’ve had [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and they’ve had [Edinson] Cavani. All these players that are near the end of their careers and were going to do the same with Arnoutovic.
“It’s very, very odd. Whoever is doing the recruitment at Man United needs sacking and banned from working for any other football club. It’s embarrassing.”
