Man United news: Mauricio Pochettino has ‘killed’ his chance after new development – pundit
Man United need to invest in their new manager rather than on a squad overhaul, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted the playing staff does not need “silly investment”.
It comes after a Man United source told Football Insider on Monday (21 March) they have told top manager targets the club will have to be sustainable in the transfer window this summer.

Sky Sports reported yesterday (22 March) United have a four-man shortlist for the role including Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Julen Lopetegui and Luis Enrique.
It is claimed Pochettino and Ten Hag are the two frontrunners for the job.
“They don’t need silly investment in the squad, they need silly investment in a manager,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They need the right manager, whatever it costs. If you get the right manager in you can do a lot better with that squad of players, the right formation, the right partnerships.
“They need investment but not a ridiculous amount. They’ve Rashford, Elanga, Sancho, Fernandes, Pogba, Ronaldo. They’ve got quality players they just need the right manager to coach them.

“It’s hard to say who that is. Pochettino lost 3-0 to Monaco at the weekend with PSG. He’s killing himself with what he’s doing at PSG if he wants the United job. If he can’t motivate these superstars, how is he going to motivate the superstars at United.
“For me, Poch would not be the one I would give the job to but who is? It’s a difficult job for whoever’s choosing.”
In other news, FC Porto are plotting a sensational move to sign a Man United superstar.
