Man United news: Pundit identifies the training ground leak after Marcus Rashford tweet

Agents and family members of Man United players are to blame for the training ground leaks, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested the reports around Ralf Rangnick’s training ground sessions are the result of “accidental leaks”.

ESPN reported last Friday (11 February) the players are frustrated at Rangnick’s “old-fashioned” methods and have compared his assistant Chris Armas to comedy TV manager Ted Lasso.

Bild journalist Christian Falk reported on Twitter today (16 February) that Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire are also annoyed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence in the dressing room.

Rashford took to Twitter to insist that Falk was “making it up” and there were no divides within the squad.

“These leaks are not OK but they do happen,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“If something happens at training then the players will tell their agents, tell their brothers, tell their cousins and tell their Dads. Then they will tell their friends, that’s how it leaks.

“Sometimes players don’t mean for it to leak, they just tell their agents everything and their family members everything.

“That can be how things are leaked. It can be accidental leaks where you just tell your family member.”

United won 2-0 against 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion last night (15 February) – their first Premier League win since before the winter break.

Man United

They are next in action against fierce rivals Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday (20 February).

They ran out 5-1 winners when the two sides met at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season.

In other news, Ralf Rangnick could be sacked by Man United soon after a ‘massively concerning’ report.
