Finance guru: Man United have just earned ‘millions’ as new deal is ‘on another level’

Man United will “comfortably” earn millions from their sponsorship deal with personal care brand Remington.

That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the recently-renewed global partnership.

United announced last Thursday that they had extended their agreement with Remington, who are one of 23 global partners at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils earned £232.2m in commercial revenue for the year ending June 2021, as per their last set of accounts.

And the renewal with Remington will easily add another seven-figure-plus sum on top of that, insists Plumley.

“I’ll stick my neck out quite comfortably and say it will be millions,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“Remington are a big organisation in their own right and with Manchester United we know the global reach.

“It’s difficult to get an exact figure because they are all snowballed together in the accounts.

“But there are some wider numbers on this that show the reach both organisations are after.

“Since the launch of the partnership in 2019, Remington say they have created over 800 different consumer activations,

“They have also featured in 50 different countries with a reach of over 1.1billion people.

“Pitchside advertising is also visible to an audience of over 3.5bn people per annum.

“In terms of reach and exposure, you can see they are getting access to that big global marketplace.

“There is also engagement on another level with the campaigns they have done with players.

“There are also branded products you can sell with United’s logo.”

Adidas, TeamViewer, Cadbury and Kohler are among United’s other global partners.

They turned over £494m in total over the last financial year.
