Man United star in hot water as talkSPORT reporter fumes over Maguire comments – pundit
Man United players would not have wanted to speak to their “Mrs and kids let alone the world press” after their 5-0 defeat against Liverpool.
That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Harry Maguire’s attitude after the loss.
Speaking on talkSPORT (October 24th), reporter Alex Crook fumed over the centre-half’s comments ahead of his post-match interview.
Maguire allegedly said he was ‘only doing the interview because he has to’ as captain of the club.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won just two of their previous seven fixtures across all competitions.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Maguire’s comments, Robinson said: “When you have just been hammered 5-0 you do not want to speak to anybody, never-mind the world media.
“You often get asked questions that you don’t want to answer. In all honesty, you don’t want to speak to your Mrs and kids when you’ve been thumped, let alone the world press. I understand his stance.
“It is difficult but fans do want to hear from the players straight after the match.

“This is why players get themselves in trouble. They speak straight after the game when adrenaline is still pumping. You are on a different level to what you would be half an hour after the game. Players say things they probably shouldn’t say.
“I completely understand Maguire’s stance.”
In other news, a pundit has predicted the amount of games Solskjaer is away from the Man United sack.
