Man United fans are urging the club to sign Matheus Cunha after an update on their pursuit of the Brazilian forward.

Man United are expected to strengthen their attacking options this summer following an underwhelming season from both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

While there were hopes for the pair to lead the line, neither has delivered consistently, leaving the club with little choice but to explore alternatives.

Ruben Amorim’s primary target was previously Viktor Gyokeres, but the former Sporting striker is now being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal—potentially putting that deal out of reach for United.

Back in November, Football Insider reported that Man United had expressed interest in Cunha, and despite the Brazilian signing a new contract in February, speculation around his future has never really cooled.

Plenty of clubs have shown interest in Cunha, but a recent update from a journalist has convinced United fans that a move could be edging closer. The rumour has picked up pace quickly, and supporters are already picturing him in red.

According to journalists Ben Jacobs and Danny Rust, Man United have already “held talks” with Cunha’s agent, who is now reported to have “jetted into the UK” to continue negotiations.

The Brazilian forward is said to be “open” to a move to Old Trafford this summer, which has only fuelled speculation that a deal may be edging closer.

The 25-year-old has been a standout performer for Wolves this season, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists across 2,376 minutes of football–underlining his value as a key figure in their attack.

Cunha was linked with a move in January, with Arsenal showing interest in the versatile forward as they searched for attacking reinforcements.

However, he opted to stay at Wolves at the time, not wanting to abandon the side in the midst of a relegation scrap.

Though he signed a new contract in February, that deal included a £62.5 million release clause– something that has now caught the attention of several top clubs.

Man United fans call for Cunha signing amid Liverpool and Nottingham Forest interest

United won’t be alone in the race if Cunha becomes available this summer, with both Liverpool and Nottingham Forest monitoring the situation closely.

Liverpool may represent a more appealing destination for Cunha from a sporting perspective, especially with the side likely to lift the Premier League this season.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Nottingham Forest are preparing an ambitious move for Cunha with Champions League likely to be on offer.

Despite the competition, Man United fans are growing increasingly confident following the latest reports.

Reacting to the update, one supporter wrote: “If United were a serious club, we’d do everything to sign Cunha this summer. He’s PERFECT…” while another added: “This is what I’m talking about. Bring him in.”
