Marcus Rashford faces Man United ‘return’ as two Barcelona chiefs deliver withering private verdicts
Marcus Rashford faces the prospect of a swift return to Manchester United after the forward was sent a stark warning.
Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan, during the summer transfer window after spending the second half of last season at Aston Villa.
The 27-year-old was included in Man United’s ‘bomb squad’ alongside the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.
Rashford has earned a call up to the England squad during the international break, but Barcelona chiefs have not been left entirely impressed by his performances at club level.

Marcus Rashford told he must ‘improve’ at Barcelona
The Mail [6 September], state that Barcelona believed Rashford could make “an immediate impact” at the club, but this has yet to materialise.
“Rashford is going ‘completely unnoticed’ in games, as well as ‘shy, imprecise and lost’. As a result, he is reportedly expected to improve soon, otherwise he faces the prospect of being sent back to Old Trafford, it was stated by the Mail.
“Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco have made no secret of the fact they were never fully convinced over Rashford.”
If Barcelona sent Rashford back to Man United then the Spanish club would have to pay £4.3million to the Red Devils.
Barcelona were pursuing Nico Williams before they turned to Rashford, after Athletic Bilbao offered the Spanish winger, and he accepted, a new contract at the club.
Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona future in the balance
Football Insider Verdict
Rashford has not had a blistering start to life at Barcelona, with just one start in three La Liga appearances, in which he was substituted at half-time.
No goals or assists in any of his appearances so far, Barcelona will be expecting more output from the forward in coming weeks.
Man United and Amorim will not want Rashford to return to the club, as it is clear he has no future at Old Trafford.

Amorim will want a permanent deal to happen come the end of the season, but that seemingly depends on Rashford’s performances improving in Spain.
Barcelona was Rashford’s priority destination throughout the summer, and with a spot in the England World Cup squad up for grabs, it would be expected that the forward tries hard to make an impact.
