Marcus Rashford posts Aston Villa injury update after ‘season over’ claim

Marcus Rashford posted an update following his latest injury setback as speculation grows over where he’ll be playing next season.

Rashford has reignited his career ever since arriving on loan at Aston Villa during the January window, scoring four goals and providing six assists across all competitions.

He has featured predominantly on the left flank but has also operated centrally, creating fierce competition for places with Ollie Watkins.

However, it’s now been reported that Rashford is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a hamstring injury – an untimely blow for both the player and Villa during a crucial run-in.

Despite this, Aston Villa are still leading the race to sign Rashford permanently in the summer. Yet in a surprise twist, another club has entered the conversation with an ambitious move of their own, as the winger posted an update to supporters.

Tottenham plot move for Marcus Rashford amid injury and transfer uncertainty

Following confirmation that Rashford could miss the remainder of the season, the winger shared an update on his Instagram story, posting a video of himself in the gym as he begins his recovery process.

While his future remains uncertain, Football Insider has revealed that Tottenham are now exploring an ambitious move to sign Rashford, should his permanent switch to Aston Villa fall through.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider Tottenham must win the Europa League and that qualifying for the Champions League will be key to convincing Rashford to consider a move to North London.

Ollie Watkins linked with exit as Aston Villa consider Rashford deal

Watkins has been Unai Emery’s preferred option up front since taking charge, but the striker has had to settle for spells on the bench this season. Whether in favour of Jhon Duran earlier in the campaign or Rashford more recently.

There have been suggestions that Watkins is unhappy at Aston Villa due to his lack of regular minutes and could be open to leaving the club. Football Insider revealed Liverpool are currently leading the race for Watkins’ signature if he chooses to move on this summer.

In the meantime, Emery will be relying on him to step up in Rashford’s absence as Aston Villa aim to secure a top-five finish and Champions League qualification.
