Marcus Rashford rages in explosive new message as online ‘photo of me’ emerges

Man United forward Marcus Rashford has taken to social media to hit out at the press after being contacted regarding a picture with a ‘rapper’.

The 27-year-old was excluded from the squad entirely for Man United’s remarkable 3-1 come-back win over bottom-placed Southampton on Thursday (January 16).

Rashford hasn’t made an appearance for Ruben Amorim’s side since admitting he wants a “new challenge” after their 2-1 win over Man City earlier in the season.

United’s 3-1 win over Southampton sees them climb up to 12th, 12 points off Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side in fourth.

According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund are interested in giving Rashford a way out on a six-month loan deal after a meeting between director Sebastian Kehl and the winger’s representatives.

The winger had been key for United before the rumours regarding his future, starting 19 of his 24 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing three assists in his 1500 minutes of action.

Rashford furiously took to Instagram after being contacted by the press regarding the image, saying: “Been contacted today by a tabloid informing me that they plan to publish a photo of me with a rapper apparently taken over a year ago.

“I want to make it clear I have never seen this photo, I do not know this person and I am not friends with him. Like most footballers if someone asks for a photo with me, I will never refuse but I am obviously not able to do a background check on every individual that asks me for a photo.

“Can I please urge tabloids rather than focusing on me, to use their platforms to help raise awareness on the many charities and individuals that work daily throughout the UK to tackle knife crime to prevent more families suffering tragic loss. My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Jimmy Mizen.”

The rapper in question is said to be Jake Fahri, who goes by the stage name TEN, who was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years in prison in 2009 for killing the 16-year-old schoolboy Mizen in May 2008.

Rashford’s future at the club remains unclear as they prepare for a visit from Brighton on Sunday (January 19).
