Mark Lawrenson predicts Liverpool v Bournemouth
By Dominic Toner
Mark Lawrenson has predicted Liverpool to beat Bournemouth 2-0 during their Premier League clash on Wednesday night.
The Reds welcome the Cherries to Anfield for a league clash and will be hoping to consolidate their position in the top-four places.
The Merseyside club managed to get the better of rivals Everton 3-1 in their last game and are now unbeaten in their last four games.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have climbed to third in the league, but still face a tough battle to finish in the Champions League places.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s team are 11th-placed in the table and are seven points above the relegation places.
BBC pundit Lawrenson feels that Liverpool have managed to recapture their best form recently and should have too much for Bournemouth.
“Bournemouth might try to sit back a bit but the best thing about their team is the way they play when they come forward,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport. ”If they go on the attack then that will help Liverpool, and I also think Jurgen Klopp’s side have regained a bit of their belief from earlier in the season anyway.
“The Cherries will let them play and I think Liverpool will have too much for them.”
Liverpool may be seeking revenge when they face Bournemouth after losing 4-3 to them in the previous meeting.
Klopp’s side will be hoping to end their run of losing against teams in the bottom half of the table after falling short countless times against lesser opposition.
They have managed to unbeaten against teams in the top six and have been too much for their rivals with their pace.
However, they have found it difficult at times to break down solid defences and Bournemouth will take encouragement in that.
In other Liverpool news, Jamie Carragher claims they must make three signing in order to compete for the league title.
