Watford manager Marco Silva is the new second favourite to be named the next permanent Everton manager, according to the latest bookmakers' odds.

SkyBet have Silva, 40, priced at 6/4 after his odds were slashed to be just a fraction behind favourite David Unsworth (6/5).

The Portuguese manager, who oversaw Hull's relegation form the Premier League last season, has now stormed ahead of Sam Allardyce (5/1) and Sean Dyche (8/1) in the running.

The European manager has worked wonders in his two first, but brief, spells in English football.

He was unlucky to see Hull relegated last season when he almost saved them from the abyss while the early fixtures of this campiagn have seen Watford show encouraging signs of a top-half finish.

Unsworth, who is currently in caretaker charge, got the better of ex-Olympiakos boss Silva last week when Everton came from two goals behind to beat Watford 3-2 at Goodison, with Tom Cleverely missing a very late penalty of the Hornets.
