Paul Robinson is adamant that Danny Rose will leave Tottenham before the domestic window shuts on Friday.

The former Spurs and Leeds United shot-stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed that the "writing is on the wall" for the 30-year-old after he was not given a squad number this season.

Rose, who has entered the final year of his contract at the London club, has been deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho but has so far failed to secure an exit.

Newcastle United cooled their interest in re-signing Rose earlier in the summer after he spent the second half of last season on loan at St. James Park.

When asked by Football Insider if Rose will quit by Friday's transfer cut-off, Robinson replied: "The writing is on the wall for Danny Rose given that he has not got a squad number this season.

"I think he will see him move on and I am surprised that Newcastle did not sign him this summer because he did quite well there last season.

"Wherever he goes, he will do well. He is a top player, I like him, I rate him. He just does not fit in Jose's plans and Jose does not want him around.

"I think he will move before the deadline, whether that be to Middlesborough or wherever it may be. He is definitely one that will be leaving."
