Frank McAvennie has questioned the decision-makers at Tottenham amid poor performances from Tanguy Ndombele.

The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the club must change it's recruitment strategy.

Tottenham Insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, revealed the true cost of Ndombele to Football Insider.

It was claimed Ndombele will cost SPurs £110million over the course of the contract based on his £65million transfer fee and £200,000 per week wages.

However, he stayed at the club and worked his way back into Nuno's plans although his performances have been criticised.

McAvennie insists Ndombele isn't fit to wear the shirt and blasted Daniel Levy's decision to sanction the move.

"The recruitment needs to be so much better," McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

"They have been signing players who are not fit to wear the shirt. That Ndombele for starters.

"I said in the summer how strange everything was and he cost an absolute fortune.

"A fortune for someone who doesn't want to play, keeps asking to leave and never delivers.

"Who sanctioned that? Well, it was Levy, wasn't it? Those kinds of rank signings need to stop if they want actual progress."

Ndombele has been in and out of the Spurs team since he joined in 2019.

He has so far made 80 appearances for the club.
