McLeish expects multiple Rangers stars to leave in January – and the team will ‘benefit massively’
Alex McLeish has claimed Rangers could sell players in January as Giovanni van Bronckhorst launches a “new era” at Ibrox.
The former Gers boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 46-year-old’s style of play will “benefit the team massively”.
Van Bronckhorst was appointed Rangers boss last week after Steven Gerrard departed to join Premier League club Aston Villa.

Speaking at the Dutchman’s introductory press conference on Monday (November 22nd), as quoted by the Daily Record, sporting director Ross Wilson claimed Rangers do not need to sell players in January.
However, Wilson insisted any money raised from player sales will be reinvested in order to “take the club forward”.
McLeish suggested Van Bronckhorst may be looking to oust Rangers stars who don’t fit into his system.
“I can see there being exits,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“You would hope that the players’ stock hasn’t gone down, and hope there is still interest in those players.
“I’m sure Giovanni will have his own style, and some of those players that fit into Gerrard’s style may be surplus to requirements. We have to be prepared for these changes.
“It’s a new era under Van Bronckhorst, and I’m sure his style will benefit the team massively.”

Rangers are four points clear of rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The Ibrox side face Livingston on Sunday.
