McManus predicts Rangers and Celtic 2017-18 finish

By Harvey Byrne

Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus has predicted both Celtic and Rangers will make up the top six of the Premiership once the 2017-18 season reaches it’s end.

The Hoops won their sixth league title in a row in the last campaign as they ran through the entirety of the domestic campaign unbeaten.

Meanwhile, the Gers were in their first season back in the top-flight since their demotion in 2012 and achieved a third placed finish.

Now, McManus has responded to a fan on his personal Twitter account asking for his top six, naming both Celtic and Rangers in first and third order.

Rangers fans will be hoping for vast improvements over last season’s third placing and they will certainly be looking for their side to close the 39-point gap between themselves and top of the league Celtic.

Meanwhile, the Hoops will be hoping for a similar campaign to their last one alongside competing against Europe’s elite in the Champions League.

They are currently preparing for a second-leg qualifying clash against Rosenborg in Norway before kicking off their Premiership campaign against managerless Hearts on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Gers will travel to Motherwell for a Sunday afternoon encounter.
