Michael Owen predicts Liverpool v Leicester clash
By Dominic Toner
Michael Owen predicts that Liverpool will cause Leicester several problems when they meet in the Premier League on Monday night.
The Reds travel to the King Power Stadium in search of the three points and will climb up to third in the league table with a victory.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be in good spirits after recording a 2-0 win over top four rivals Tottenham in their last game, courtesy of a brace from attacker Sadio Mane.
Meanwhile, their upcoming opponents Leicester have slipped into the relegation places and are without a Premier League win since 31 December against West Ham.
The Foxes sacked title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri on Thursday night and it’s set to be a tense atmosphere at Leicester’s home ground.
Owen has tipped there to be at least three goals in the match and feels that Liverpool will be particularly dangerous.
“The Reds were magnificent in the reverse fixture at Anfield back in September and I think they will pose plenty of problems for Claudio Ranieri’s men who have yet to find the back of the opposition net in the Premier League in 2017,” Owen wrote in his BetVictor column.
Liverpool have already enjoyed success against reigning champions Leicester once this season as they eased to a 4-1 win at Anfield back in September.
The Merseyside club were in red hot form at the beginning of the season and were regarded as main title contenders, but a poor showing in January has seen them left fighting for a top four spot.
However, they showed signs in the Spurs win that they are back to their best and will be looking to follow that up with further success over Leicester.
Both sides are fighting for different reasons on Monday night and Liverpool will be praying their battle for a Champions League spot takes priority.
