Miguel Almiron and two other Newcastle United stars ‘transformed’ amid ‘huge’ claim – pundit
Paul Robinson has waxed lyrical about Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England goalkeeper said the 44-year-old deserves “huge credit” for the improvement of Joelinton, Miguel Almiron and Sean Longstaff.
The Magpies moved into the top four with a 2-1 win over Spurs on Sunday (23 October).
Almiron scored his sixth goal in 12 Premier League games in the clash.
As quoted by the Shields Gazette (22 October), Howe claimed the stark improvement in Almiron’s output is down to confidence.
The Magpies boss added that the winger has been “incredible out of possession” for his side this season.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Howe’s improvement of players at St. James’ Park, Robinson said: “Eddie Howe has transformed a lot of those players which is the sign of a good coach.
“He has made Joelinton, Almiron and Longstaff better.
“A year ago there is no way in the world Almiron would have scored the goal he did against Spurs. He would not have had the confidence to whip it round his defender and put it in the net like he did.
“These players have been given confidence above anything else. They have the ability.
“You have to give Howe a huge amount of credit. He has made players betters while surrounding them with quality signings. Bruno Guimaraes is absolutely outstanding.”
