Mills: Leeds told to seal Raphinha-like signing as plan to activate release clause revealed
Michael Olise would be a squad player at Leeds United and they should look to sign players who will improve the starting XI immediately like Raphinha.
That is the view of former England and Whites defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after it was revealed the Yorkshire giants are very keen on the Reading playmaker.
Football Insider revealed on Friday that Leeds are closely monitoring the teenager and are keen on activating his £8million release clause in the summer.
This site broke the news back in November Olise has a release fee and it is understood that will remain in place this summer.
However, Mills is not convinced he would improve Leeds’ side and told the Whites to target proven stars like they did last summer.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Does he add more quality to what Leeds have already? That would be my only question.

“You’ve got Rodrigo, you’ve got Kalvin Phillips, you’ve got Raphinha.
“Maybe it adds a little bit of strength in depth. But when you’re looking at the second season in the Premier League you’ve got to look to improve the first XI.
“You’re better off being a bit more patient and spending more money by improving the first XI. If you can do that at the right price it’s worth doing.
“But just bringing in squad players is not always the right route.”
Olise has scored five times and provided 10 assists in 36 Championship appearances this term.
The London-born midfielder is also a France youth international.
