Mills: Traore has ‘disappeared’ at Wolves amid alarming reveal
Danny Mills has slammed Adama Traore for his performances for Wolves this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England full-back insisted the forward has “disappeared” after he made massive improvements last season.
Traore has only scored twice and contributed three assists in 35 Premier League appearances this season, including 26 starts.
His disappointing season continued on Sunday when he had just 41 touches, the fewest of any outfield player on the pitch, in Wolves’ 2-0 loss to Tottenham, according to sofascore.
The result was the latest in a disappointing campaign for Wolves after they reached the Europa League quarter-finals last season.
“They’ve lacked real balance this year,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“That’s happened with the two players that have left in Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty and also Raul Jimenez with his injury. The balance has been affected.
“Ruben Neves has looked decent at times.
“But Traore has disappeared. There was so much excitement about him and he’d seemed to have made such improvements with his ability and his final delivery.
“This season he’s almost disappeared. Where’s he gone?
“They just need to find a good team. They’ve got lots of good individuals but they just haven’t gelled as a team.
“Maybe it’s a chance to have a little bit of a reset and bring in those young players and get back to that team ethic.”
Wolves now sit in 12th position in the Premier League and cannot finish in the top half this season.
They have two games left to play, they travel to Everton on Wednesday night before hosting Manchester United on the final day.
