‘Mohamed Salah is heading out of Liverpool’ after ‘staggering’ twist
Mohamed Salah could be forced to leave Liverpool sooner rather than later after burning his bridges with his public outburst against Arne Slot.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 33-year-old has “no way back” after making his stance clear.
Salah did not travel with the Liverpool squad ahead of their Champions League clash with Inter Milan on 9 December as questions about his long-term future are being asked.
After Slot’s side drew 3-3 with Leeds at Elland Road, and the winger was left on the bench, he exploded in the press, slamming the club and his relationship with the manager.
This came after Football Insider first revealed on 6 December that Salah is not happy at Liverpool, and the situation has since been blown up by his comments.

Mohamed Salah looks set to leave Liverpool
Brown told Football Insider on 8 December that Liverpool are siding with Slot over Salah following his outburst and have no immediate concerns about the manager’s future.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted there is likely no way back for the Egypt star given the things he has said.
“Salah has burnt his bridges at Liverpool with those comments,” he told Football Insider.
“I found it staggering that he would come out and say the things he said, as much as I’m sure he’s frustrated at the way things have been going lately.
“It’s like he’s trying to force his way out, and he may well have got his wish because I struggle to see a way he can stay after the things he said.
“Criticising the manager publicly in that way, and claiming the club have thrown him under the bus, of course they’re not going to take kindly to that.
“In recent weeks, his performances have been pathetic, there’s always been the thing about him not working back to defend, but he’s not even working forward now.
“You can excuse poor performances when he pops up with a goal like he usually does, but they can’t afford to carry somebody who isn’t offering them anything.
“But he doesn’t want to accept that, his agent is in his ear telling him certain things, and to be honest it looks like the only way this is going is for him to leave the club.”
Saudi Pro League clubs plot renewed Salah bids
Football Insider revealed on 7 December that Salah could be set to leave Liverpool after his public outburst, although a summer move is more likely than January.
A mid-season move is off the cards due to the 33-year-old’s participation at AFCON, but all parties could be open to a parting of the ways at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Saudi Pro League clubs want Salah to finally join despite turning down interest in favour of a new deal at Anfield last year.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider last month that Liverpool could accept a “massive” offer for Salah from the Saudi Pro League.
Following what has now become a very public falling-out with the manager, there is now an expectation that Saudi clubs will reignite their interest.
