Mohamed Salah: ‘Obscene’ Liverpool claim issued after £80m+ update – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Liverpool are willing to offer Mohamed Salah an “obscene amount of money” to stay after an update on contract talks.
The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted there is little else the Reds can do to convince the 29-year-old to commit his future to the club.
As revealed by Football Insider on Saturday (14 May), Liverpool are set to hold new talks with Salah and are confident a deal can be struck.

The Merseyside giants are willing to offer the Egypt ace a four-year deal worth in excess of £80million in total.
A source close to Liverpool has told this site Salah is keen to stay and will compromise on his £500,000-a-week wage demands.
Hutton insisted the Reds have done all they can to try and get the mercurial winger tied down.
Asked if there is any more Liverpool can do, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “No. We’re talking four years now. Was that not one of the stumbling blocks before, the length of the contract?
“If your agent’s phoning you and saying you’ve got that on the table, I’d say: ‘Fire that through to me. I’ll get it signed.’
“That is an obscene amount of money for that contract for four years.
“I think they’ve done everything possible to keep hold of one of their star players. If that’s the deal, how can you grumble at that? I think they’ve shown their intent moving forward.

“They want him within this team moving forward and offered what he’s worth, in my opinion. Hopefully, for Liverpool, it’s just a matter of time.”
Salah’s current terms expire next summer.
