Monk sends Twitter message to fans, shares why Leeds have an advantage v Cardiff
By Harvey Byrne
Garry Monk shared a Twitter message to Leeds fans on Thursday evening explaining that playing at Elland Road will give his side an advantage against Cardiff.
The Yorkshire giants are currently preparing for a Saturday afternoon clash the Bluebirds which sees fifth take on 17th.
Monk and his team suffered a devastating 2-1 defeat against Huddersfield at the Kirklees Satdium in their last outing.
However, the relatively young manager shared on his personal Twitter account that playing on home soil fills his side with confidence.
The stats would appear to backup Monk’s claims with his Leeds side picking up 32 points from 15 home fixtures this season, placing them in fourth in the home table.
Additionally, the Yorkshire giants have not lost at Elland Road since a November 20 clash against current table toppers Newcastle.
Their Saturday opponents are lead by former Whites boss Neil Warnock, who themselves are in a fight for survival.
The Welsh side are eight points clear of the relegation zone, but with three defeats in their last four matches they are in danger of dropping further.
Both teams still have everything to play for with 16 games left of the season and Saturday’s encounter is sure to be a hotly contested fixture.
In other Leeds news, Monk also responded to why move for Bogle collapsed.
