Centre-forward gives green light to Rangers as talks to open in coming days – report

Alfredo Morelos is willing to sign a new Rangers deal even though he was “disappointed” at the club rejecting an £8million bid from a super-rich Chinese club, according to a report.
The Express claim that Morelos was frustrated at losing out on the chance to join Beijing Rehne last week and secure a massive pay rise.
It is said that the Chinese outfit are not expected to make an improved bid and will now turn to other centre-forward targets.
The Express claim that Rangers will now open talks with the Colombian on an extension to the contract that he signed when joining From HJK Helsinki last summer.
Discussions are expected to begin in the coming days on a new deal for Morelos, who has scored 13 goals in his debut campaign for the Light Blues.
He was a late substitute in Tuesday night’s 2-0 win at Partick Thistle after manager Graeme Murty admitted the player had been left “confused” following the series of mega offers from China.
Nevertheless, the Express report that Morelos’ stance is that he “is more than happy to sign an extension providing his terms are matched” by the Glasgow giants.
One factor in the Scottish club’s favour is that success at Ibrox can provide a more direct route to Morelos achieving his ambition of playing in the English Premier League.
In other Rangers news, it can be revealed that a key first teamer has sensationally asked to leave after the board failed to stick to their promise of giving him a new deal during the transfer window.
