Reliable journalist: New signing to hook up with teammates on Monday as Tottenham agree deal

Tottenham’s Kyle Walker is set for a medical with Manchester City on Friday and will complete the deal in time to fly out with his new teammates on their pre-season tour on Monday, according to a reliable journalist.
The BBC’s David Ornstein tweeted on Thursday that the £50million transfer was close to being sealed ahead of a medical with the Premier League giants on Friday.
If the deal goes through to this timeline, it will bring to the end one of the most protracted transfer sagas of the summer.
Rumours started swirling around the future of Kyle Walker at Spurs before the end of the last season, and Manchester City were the team named as being the interested party.
Tottenham valued the player at £50million and were happy to keep hold of Walker if Manchester City didn’t meet their valuation.
Earlier on Thursday the Telegraph claimed that City had finally caved in and met the £50million valuation.
The Citizens had hoped to bag their man for £40million but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was not going to budge.
Walker, 27, joined Tottenham from Aston Villa in 2011 and has been a major part of the team that has risen to being genuine title contenders under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
He has made a total of 229 appearances for his club and has won 27 caps for England.
