Newcastle fans mock Joe Willock as ‘massive’ training ground clip emerges

Newcastle United fans are asking questions about Joe Willock’s long-term future at the club after new footage emerged from the training ground.

Shared via the midfielder’s social media, the clip shows Willock has returned to individual training after his latest injury blow sustained in the League Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.

While many have received it as good news for Eddie Howe’s squad, others are insisting his injury issues are becoming more of a problem.

Since the beginning of the 2023-24 season, the 25-year-old has missed a total of 40 games through injuries including hamstring and achilles issues, with the latest a blow to his thigh.

The range and severity of his injuries are the biggest concern, as rather than having a reoccurring and fixable issue, it seems he is simply more prone to suffering knocks.

After the new footage was shared on social media, Magpies fans remained apprehensive about the prospect of his return.

Despite plenty of relief at the possibility of a recovery, several supporters have begun to speculate about how long he will last back in the first-team before he is dealt another blow.

Fans were left “devastated” when the midfielder picked up his latest injury amid hopes that it would be a big season for him, as he cannot seem to get over the constant issues.

Despite stepping up his recovery in recent days as the clip showed, Willock’s awful luck in recent years at St James’ Park has led to growing frustration at the club.

Now, fans have taken to social media in reaction to the news, with many insisting he cannot stay fit enough to make any real impact.

Others, however, were glad to see him putting the building blocks in place to make a swift return to the side in the coming weeks, insisting he would provide a “massive boost”.
