Newcastle fans rage as two more senior stars hit by injury blows

Newcastle United fans have been left raging after the latest injury update emerged from their pre-season training camp in Germany.

Eddie Howe’s side are set to face Hull City on 27 July after a behind-closed-doors friendly saw them open pre-season with a 3-1 win against SPVgg Unterhaching at the Adidas Headquarters.

However, the injury list at St James’ Park continues to grow, with blows to Joe Willock and new signing Lloyd Kelly facing the most scrutiny.

Reports shared that those two were among 19 players missing from the friendly, leading fans to label the situation “pathetic” and “a joke”.

Newcastle saw the likes of Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Lewis Miley and Matt Targett hit by long-term blows last season, and the trend of injured players at St James’ Park has not slowed down.

The Premier League season is set to begin in just over three weeks, and fans are beginning to become concerned with their players’ availability.

Frustration quickly took priority on social media, where fans lashed out at the injured players to express their anger at the club.

Others called for the players with recurring issues to be sold “now” given their lack of availability.

One supporter went as far as to suggest that there is a deeper issue at the club leading to the constant injury issues they have faced.
