Newcastle fans wowed by Kieran Trippier as touchline footage drops online
Newcastle United fans have praised Kieran Trippier for being a “great leader” after footage aired of him coaching his teammates at the weekend.
The recently retired England international was an unused substitute during Newcastle’s 2-1 win against Tottenham at St James’ Park, but he still managed to influence the game.
Trippier was spotted by fans guiding his teammates and vocally instructing them from the sidelines throughout the match.
The versatile full-back had been linked with a move away from the Magpies throughout the summer, but the 33-year-old has remained at the club.
Newcastle twice took the lead against Spurs with Harvey Barnes and Alexander Isak getting on the scoresheet, and they were eventually able to hold onto that despite a Dan Burn own goal.
The three points moved Newcastle into fifth place in the Premier League table, continuing their undefeated start to the new campaign.
Newcastle United fans were impressed by Kieran Trippier’s leadership skills
Trippier has only made one appearance in the Premier League so far this season, playing 32 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
Fans were quick to point out how “critical” Trippier still is to the club, despite Tino Livramento having been favoured to him so far this season on the pitch.
In other news, Newcastle United fans rage at ‘pathetic’ James Maddison after what he did.
