Newcastle player ratings v Arsenal: Magpies mainstay brilliant with 9/10 display
Substitutes
Islam Slimani (63′) – 7: The Algerian came on with just under half an hour to play in just his second appearance for the club. His presence up front was immediately noticeable, using the physicality that Dwight Gayle lacked to get in and about the Arsenal defence and help create some opportunities.
Joselu (79′) – 6: Likely brought on to offer a figure up front to hold the ball up, he saw little action as Arsenal did all they could to try and snatch a point. His biggest impact came in added time, when he managed to force a free kick to run down the clock.
