Newcastle ready ‘attractive offer’ to lure Ferran Torres – sources
Newcastle United are readying an “attractive offer” for Barcelona’s Ferran Torres before the transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Barcelona are “willing to listen to offers” for the winger.
The stumbling block over this move could be the 22-year-old himself, as it’s believed he isn’t “overly fussed” about returning to the Premier League.
Despite not being first choice in Hansi Flick’s team, Torres is happy at Barcelona and is willing to fight for his place.
The Spain international is on a lucrative contract, but right now it is Barcelona pushing to make this move happen as they look to sell players to aid their financial position.
An attractive offer to sign Torres in this window would be necessary to convince him to move back to England.
Newcastle United move to Ferran Torres in their pursuit of a winger
Newcastle have been actively pursuing a winger in this transfer window after missing out on their original target, Michael Olise.
Torres boasts Premier League experience following his spell at Man City, where he played 43 games in all competitions for the club and scored 16 goals.
The 22-year-old scored 11 goals in all competitions for Barcelona last season, but the bulk of his 42 appearances came from the bench.

Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is another target of Newcastle’s, with the Magpies continuing to monitor him.
