Newcastle tipped to ‘push the boat out’ to complete Martial signing after Sky update – pundit
Newcastle should “push the boat out” for Anthony Martial with Callum Wilson out injured, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Magpies will have to “get a move on” to sign the 26-year-old amid interest from Sevilla.
As per Sky Sports on Tuesday (28 December), the Spanish club have had a loan bid for Martial rejected after the France international asked to leave Old Trafford in the winter window.

The report suggests Man United are looking to receive the striker’s £150,000-a-week wage in full, in addition to a loan fee.
Campbell suggested newly-rich Newcastle could have the financial clout to secure the former Monaco man’s services this month.
However, he added that Martial could be better off moving abroad.
“I think he’d rather not be in England,” Campbell told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“After what has come out, what he’s said, I think he needs that clean break and move to a different climate and pace of game.
“But money talks. If Newcastle really want him – and they need him with Wilson out injured – they can push the boat out.
“It won’t take much to usurp Sevilla. However, they’ll have to get a move on because I’ve seen that they’ve put a bid in.”
A Magpies source told this site on 24 December that manager Eddie Howe has rejected the chance to pursue Martial next month.

But injury expert and Football Insider pundit Ben Dinnery claimed Newcastle hitman Wilson could miss four months of action after picking up an injury against Man United on Monday (27 December).
The Magpies striker has scored six goals in 15 games this term.
