Newcastle United backed to agree ‘big’ James Maddison deal after source’s update – pundit
The signing of James Maddison could secure Champions League qualification for Newcastle United.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Saturday (5 November), this site revealed Newcastle have set aside a “huge sum” of money to spend in January.

The Magpies currently sit third in the Premier League after only losing one of their first 14 games of the season.
On 24 September this site revealed the Toon are planning to submit a new offer for Maddison, 25, in January after seeing two bids rejected during the summer.
Wenham claims the signing could all but seal Champions League qualification for Eddie Howe’s side.
“You add a James Maddison into that team and things are looking very good for Newcastle,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s another superstar player who will raise the prospects of the whole team. With Newcastle doing so well, can we rule them out of doing a deal like this?
“Leicester still aren’t doing that well while Newcastle are flying. It could be a move that really appeals to Maddison. Who wouldn’t want to play for Newcastle after their start to the season?
“I think the club will go big in January if finishing in the top four remains a realistic opportunity.”

Maddison has been in sensational form this season, scoring six goals and registering four assists in 12 league appearances.
Leicester are next in action against West Ham on Saturday (12 November).
