Newcastle United backed to agree January Christian Pulisic deal after source’s reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Newcastle United are more likely to agree a January deal for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic than Leicester City’s James Maddison.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said it will be too difficult to convince Leicester to sell Maddison at the moment.
On 30 December, Football Insider revealed that Maddison, 26, and Pulisic, 24, are Newcastle’s top January targets for Newcastle.

The attacking duo are at the top of the Magpies’ list as the Saudi owners prepare to back Eddie Howe in the winter window.
Although there will not be a repeat of the signing spree of last January, the owners are keen to strengthen in key areas.
The recruitment team have identified the pair as players who can slot straight into the starting XI and improve it.
Although the north-east giants are keen on agreeing a deal for both this month, they are willing to bide their time and wait until the summer.
The duo are both contracted at their clubs until 2024.
When asked if Newcastle would be able to get a deal for both players over the line this month, Hutton told Football Insider: “I would say the more likely one would be Pulisic.

“I think Leicester are not the same team when Maddison is not playing, so it is a difficult one.
“With Pulisic, they have already got the likes of [Allan] Saint-Maximin and [Miguel] Almiron. I am not saying he is totally similar to them but they are kind of on the same track.“
