Newcastle United fans tear into Sean Longstaff after what he did v Wolves
Newcastle United fans have torn into Sean Longstaff after his role in Wolves’ opening goal during their Premier League clash at Molineux.
Eddie Howe’s side pulled off an impressive comeback victory after goals from Fabian Schar and Harvey Barned overturned Mario Lemina’s first-half opener.
However, Longstaff was the focus of the supporters’ attention after he gave the ball away cheaply, allowing Wolves to hit them on the counter for their goal.
The 26-year-old’s inclusion in the starting XI was already a point of contention, with Sandro Tonali left on the bench despite his return to fitness.
Tonali had impressed in performances with Italy during the international break, and many supporters expected him to return to the side to face Wolves.
However, he was left on the bench in favour of Longstaff, eventually making his way onto the pitch in place of Longstaff at half-time.
Following the controversy of his selection, the performance from Longstaff did little to justify his place in the team, and supporters are fuming.

However, with his performances beginning to leave fans frustrated, many believe he should make way for Tonali to be handed more of a starring role.
After his mistake against Wolves, the supporters are demanding he be axed from the side, as they have labelled him “useless” and “pathetic”.
