‘Newcastle make Marcus Rashford stance clear as Man United exit looms’

Newcastle United have adopted a clear stance on whether to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.

The England international fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford and consequently joined Aston Villa on loan last term.

Rashford’s loan move to Villa handed the previously out-of-form 27-year-old a new lease of life, as he notched four goals and five assists in 17 appearances for the West Midlands club.

Meanwhile, according to football finance expert Stefan Borson, Man United can save £90million by selling Rashford alongside Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Casemiro this summer.

Newcastle have no interest in Rashford amid Man United exit claims

Ahead of competing in next season’s Champions League, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe must bolster his ranks in the summer transfer window.

As Howe looks to add more quality to his squad, The Sun reported on Thursday, 18 June, that the Magpies were interested in pursuing a season-long loan deal for Rashford.

However, the Newcastle Chronicle revealed via their live blog [19 June, 09.17 am]: “There is no interest from Newcastle in Marcus Rashford despite loan stories.”

Football Insider verdict

Even though the North East club do not want to sign Rashford, Howe should still be keen to add strength in depth to his squad in attacking areas.

Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Nottingham Forest want around £50million for Anthony Elanga, amid Newcastle’s interest in the Sweden international.

Now that it has become clear that Howe’s men don’t want Rashford, the North East club appear likely to finalise their move for fellow winger Elanga.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign with Forest last term, notching six goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances, while he could become more clinical if he joined Newcastle.

Furthermore, the winger previously scored for former club Manchester United in the Champions League during the 2021/22 season, while the North East club are keen to acquire players who can perform for them in Europe.

Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively reported that Newcastle will sell Anthony Gordon to Liverpool if the Merseyside giants make an offer of £75-80m.
