Newcastle United told to seal for Christian Pulisic and 27-year-old after update – pundit

Paul Robinson has urged Newcastle United to make moves for both Leandro Trossard and Christian Pulisic in the new year.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the Magpies should prioritise Trossard, 27, if only one winger is needed at St. James’ Park though.

Eddie Howe’s side are in the market for a left-winger heading into the January transfer market.

According to the Daily Mail (27 November), Newcastle, Man United and Arsenal are all chasing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.

The USA international is said to be keen on exiting Stamford Bridge in search of regular game time.

His contract in west London runs until the end of June 2024.

Newcastle have also been linked with a move for Brighton forward Leandro Trossard in recent months.

When asked by Football Insider who the Magpies should prioritise in the January transfer window, Robinson said: “I would go for Trossard.

“He has been brilliant this season.

“I have watched him close-hand twice this season when doing the Brighton games and I was really, really impressed.

“I do not see why Newcastle could not take both Trossard and Pulisic into the squad. They would both enhance the squad.

“If it was to be one or the other I’d go for Trossard though.”

Pulisic has contributed one goal and one assist in 13 Premier League appearances this season.

Trossard has seven goals and three assists to his name in 14 outings.
