Newcastle United transfer news: ‘100%’ Jarrod Bowen claim issued after ‘incredible’ link – expert
Newcastle United will be unable to sign Jarrod Bowen this summer as he will want to move to a team capable of winning silverware immediately.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future.
According to 90min (8 April), Newcastle are ready to compete with Liverpool for the signature of Bowen – with Eddie Howe supposedly a big fan of the former Hull man.

The report claims talks with the Irons have started over a “new and improved contract” – with the forward’s current deal expiring in June 2025.
McAvennie claims Bowen won’t want to join Newcastle, even if he is open to leaving this summer.
“Newcastle will be the place to go in a few years, not now,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“At this moment in time, it’s all about the project and slowly building. It’s incredible they are being linked with him, it shows how far the club has come.
“If Bowen leaves, he will be heading to a ready-made team who are already winning trophies.
“It took Man City a few years to get up there. It will be the same at Newcastle.
“I think they will be able to sign a Jarrod Bowen in three years or so, not now.
“They will 100% be able to sign some quality players this summer but if Bowen moves, it will be to a club who is already at the top.”

Bowen has notched 14 goals and 11 assists in 43 games for West Ham this term.
Newcastle are next in action against Leicester City on Sunday (17 April).
