Newcastle United will soon be ‘unstoppable’ after source’s transfer update – ‘wow’ says pundit
Newcastle United will be “unstoppable” if the club can bolster their attacking ranks this month.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 30 December, Football Insider revealed that James Maddison, 26, and Christian Pulisic, 24, are Newcastle’s top January targets.
The attacking duo are at the top of the Magpies’ list as the Saudi owners prepare to back Eddie Howe this month.
Although there will not be a repeat of the signing spree of last January, the owners are keen to strengthen in key areas.
McManus claims Newcastle will be a shoo-in for the top four if an attacking signing arrives this month.
“Newcastle are scoring a lot of goals this season, they have so much quality going forward,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Then you remember Isak is coming back too. Wilson, Almiron, Saint-Maximin, Isak, then you add some more quality in there.
“Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy as well, they have been doing a job this season, Murphy especially. So you add someone else in there and, well, wow.
“You are talking about a top attack. We have seen Newcastle win 4-0 and 5-0 a couple of times this season, that will happen even more often if they can bring in a top player.
“I’m sure it’s something they are looking to do and if it does happen you have to say they might be unstoppable.
“There are always improvements to be made and we know Newcastle aren’t afraid to spend.
