Newcastle will ‘spend big’ this week after ‘devastating’ reveal – pundit
Paddy Kenny expects to see movement on the hunt for a new Newcastle striker in the next seven days.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after a “devastating” blow to the Magpies.
The Telegraph reported on Wednesday (29 December) that Newcastle have stepped up their attempts to sign a new striker in the January window.

This comes after injury expert and Football Insider pundit Ben Dinnery revealed on Thursday (30 December) Wilson could miss four months of action after picking up an injury.
Kenny expects Newcastle to act quickly to sign a striker who “guarantees goals”.
“Devastating, four months takes you to April,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“So Newcastle are definitely looking for a new striker. If Wilson was out for six weeks I think they might have left it.
“Strikers that guarantee goals are hard to come by so they will have to spend big.
“Luckily, they have the ability to do just that after the takeover. I think this is where we will see how committed the owners are.
“If we see movement on a striker in the next week or so we know they are really serious.
“I expect that will happen, they can’t go into these upcoming games without a goal threat.”

Wilson has scored 6 goals in 15 outings this season.
