'Not acceptable' – Christiansen slams Leeds squad as he issues stark warning over recent events

Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has slammed his squad for their recent disciplinary issues as he insists that one game could be the difference between success and failure this season.
The Whites have seen two players handed bans in as many games for violent and unsportsmanlike behaviour, attacking midfielder Samu Saiz given a six game suspension for spitting during the shock FA Cup defeat to Newport County, while Eunan O’Kane was sent off for a headbutt in the 1-0 defeat to Ipswich last weekend.
Leeds are currently sitting second in the table for most yellow cards received in the Championship, with Kalvin Phillips just one booking away from a two match suspension having already received nine cards from 26 appearances.
Christiansen has delivered his verdict on the players’ indiscretions, and issued the stark warning that he will not be accepting such behaviour as he tries to guide the squad to a top-six finish come the end of the season.
He was quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post as stating: “I will not accept this situation.
“The discipline has to be the most important because at the end of the season if we need three or four more points then we are going to be annoyed.
“It’s not acceptable and I will not permit that any more. From that we close that page and we look positive to the rest of the games.”
The Whites play host to Millwall on Saturday knowing that victory could see them return into the play-off spots, as they currently sit seventh and are behind sixth placed Sheffield United on just goal difference.
