‘Nuno Espirito Santo does U-turn’ as West Ham verbally agree new contract
West Ham United striker Callum Wilson has repaired his relationship with manager Nuno Espirito Santo to earn himself a new deal at the club.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Wilson agreed a new one-year contract extension to remain at the London Stadium.
Wilson was on the brink of leaving the Hammers in January, when it was believed that his contract had been terminated by the club.
West Ham signed two strikers in the January transfer window to aid their survival bid, but Wilson has fought his way back into Nuno’s plans and widespread reports say he’s now verbally agreed a new one-year deal.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Wilson has “proven to be an asset” for West Ham.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the 34-year-old is the type of player Nuno needs in his squad.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I don’t know what has happened. Obviously he’s gained favour with Nuno and he’s performed.
“I know he’s done well in a couple of games, but the deal was basically, as we understand it, a pay-per-play. And so he was paid on results, even though he was quite expensive, but he’s proven that he’s been an asset and has helped them.
“The momentum is still there. We know they’re not safe by any means. They’re still the favorite of the three to go down, along with Wolves and Burnley, but Callum is a player that can still do it at this level.
“And if you’re in a relegation battle, you do want experience. And I think Callum is the type of player that won’t shirk from anything, and he is exactly the sort of thing that you would need right now in that sort of relegation battle.”

West Ham handed takeover warning
Stefan Borson told Football Insider that West Ham agreeing a takeover deal will not improve the club’s financial situation.
If the club are relegated to the Championship, then any new owners at the London Stadium may be limited with what they can do to turn around their financial fortunes.
West Ham recorded a loss of £104million in their latest annual accounts, with pressure on David Sullivan and Karren Brady to resign from their roles.
