Odds slashed: West Ham heavy favourites to sign PL 28-year-old after reported offer
By Harry Sykes
West Ham have been made heavy favourites to sign Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic, according to the latest odds from a leading bookmaker.
SkyBet have given West Ham mega-short odds of just 1/7 to sign the Stoke winger in the summer transfer window.
The same bookies make him 5/1 to stay at Stoke, with Everton listed as the second favourites for his signature at a lengthy 12/1.
This comes after a report that claimed that the Hammers had made a second bid for the attacker, only to see it rejected by Stoke.
The Telegraph reported that the Potters turned down the offer, but also claim that the 28-year-old has handed in a transfer request.
Aranutovic joined Stoke from Werder Bremen for £2.4million in September 2013 and he has since made a huge 145 appearances for the club.
He is under contract until the summer of 2020 so Stoke are under no pressure to sell and could still command a hefty fee for the Austria international.
However, West Ham appear determined to land their man and it could just be a question of how much they’re willing to pay.
The Telegraph claims that Stoke are bracing themselves for a third offer from West Ham.
Aranutovic made 32 Premier League appearances for Stoke last season, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
In other West ham transfer news, the Hammers announced that this striker has left the club and returned to Mexico.
