Operation midfield maestro: Leeds should sign this available PL sensation if they get promoted

Leeds should make Jack Wilshere their marquee signing in the summer if they get promoted to the Premier League.

The Whites will certainly look to bring in some players with top-flight experience if they achieve promotion this season and they could make a sensational move for available midfield maestro Wilshere.

The 25-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Bournemouth from Arsenal and has admitted he is not sure where he will be playing his football next season, but is desperate for regular first-team football.

“I’m concentrating on the next three or four months and then I’m not sure what’s going to happen,” Wilshere told Sky Sports. “At the end of the season, when I sit down and think about [his future], that [playing regular football] will be a big factor.

“I need to play, that’s why I came here. Bournemouth gave me that opportunity. At the end of the season, when we see what I’ve done at Bournemouth, I’ll have a couple of weeks off on holiday and then think about it.”

Arsenal’s decision to allow Wilshere to leave this season suggests he has no future at the Emirates Stadium, but he could play a colossal role at Elland Road if Garry Monk makes a move for him.

The England international is desperate to be in a starting XI and there is no denying he would walk straight into Leeds’ side, with his vast level of Premier League crucial.

The central midfielder is composed in possession, technically excellent, feisty and also has a great eye for goal, qualities that would make him a great asset to Monk’s squad.

He was once regarded as one England’s best upcoming talents and could rediscover that form at a platform like Leeds.

If Wilshere is willing to join Bournemouth, then there is no reason why the Whites can’t compete for his signature if they obtain Premier League status.

Wilshere has made 138 Premier League appearances in his career during spells at Arsenal, Bournemouth and Bolton, and has shown he the quality to dictate matches in England’s top division.

He also has 34 senior appearances for England and would be a huge scalp for Leeds if they were to try establish themselves in the Premier League.

However, a potential move for Wilshere is just a fantasy right now and Leeds would need to gain promotion if they were to sign a player of his calibre.

The Whites are most likely to be competing in the play-offs at the end of the season as they try to get out of the Championship and players like Wilshere can become a reality if they succeed.
