Ossie Ardiles delivers Tottenham verdict after Burnley victory

By Dominic Toner

Ossie Ardiles revealed his delight after Tottenham beat Burnley 2-0 on Saturday in the Premier League.

Spurs managed to pick up an impressive away win at Turf Moor as goals from Eric Dier and Heung-Min Son secured the three points.

However, the north London club did lose midfielders Harry Winks and Victor Wanyama to injuries.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have intensified the pressure on league leaders Chelsea as a result and are now seven points adrift in the race for the title.

Ex-Spurs player Ardiles has congratulated his former side and was impressed at their ability to get the win without several key players, including Harry Kane and Kyle Walker.

“Big congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino and the boys at Spurs. Superb win in a very tricky fixture and very difficult circumstances (injuries),” Ardiles wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Spurs managed to stretch their current record to five consecutive wins across all competitions and are trying to set up a tough title finish with Chelsea.

They will now look to continue that run when they face Swansea on Wednesday, before a home match against London rivals Watford.

Pochettino’s team will be in good spirits after dispatching the Swans 5-0 in the previous meeting this season at White Hart Lane.
