‘Pep Guardiola is done’ – Man City fans explode after incredible scenes vs Fulham

Manchester City supporters are ready for Pep Guardiola to walk away after nearly throwing away a four-goal lead against Fulham.

Erling Haaland broke another Premier League record when netting the opening goal on Tuesday, 2 December, with Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden getting in on the action, plus a Sander Berge own goal.

While Emile Smith Rowe had grabbed a goal back in the first half, nobody expected the scenes that followed, especially with the Cottagers struggling, managed by an under-pressure Marco Silva.

Alex Iwobi made it two, Samuel Chukwueze added another couple, but Josko Gvardiol stopped the Nigerian from getting a hat-trick with a goal-line clearance in the eighth minute of added time.

Man City nearly crumbled against Leeds United, and that appeared to happen again at Craven Cottage.

Man City fans furious after the second-half display vs Fulham

Neither set of supporters would have been able to believe their eyes, and watching from the dugout, Guardiola was completely dumbfounded as his team held on for dear life.

One fan said, “We need to accept that Guardiola is done”, while another compared the Catalan to former Man United boss Erik Ten Hag due to their collapse at Craven Cottage.

In a rather harsh reaction, a third supporter was so angry that they suggested that Guardiola is “ruining his legacy” this season, with multiple hard-to-watch performances.

When was the last Premier League game to have nine goals?

When fans think about nine-goal games in the Premier League, many will go back to either of Southampton‘s heavy defeats, but this was a game of two very different halves.

In December 2024, Liverpool beat Tottenham 6-3, with both Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz netting braces, and Spurs only answering back through James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke.

Some games just explode into life, but with City making a habit of throwing in awful second-half performances in recent weeks, Guardiola will have no choice but to listen to the outside voices.

Despite conceding three second-half goals, the Citizens are now just two points behind Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, with the Gunners yet to play Brentford on Wednesday, 3 December.

It was a vital three points, but it could have been a very different story.
