“Dean Smith is great with transfers, he’s not a so-called ‘wheeler and dealer’, that’s disrespectful to the recruitment teams.
“He has made some fantastic deals and he knows people has to go.
“El Ghazi has been there a while now, is it that time he moves on?
“Him leaving could signal them signing another replacement and if they do get £17million for him that’s a good deal.
“Couple that with the Grealish money and we could see Villa buying a £40million top, top player.
“El Ghazi is still a great player and he’s been very good for Villa but it might just be the time to move him on and replace him with someone a bit younger.”
Grealish joined Man City in a £100million deal on 5th August after a summer of speculation.
Smith has already boosted his squad this summer by signing Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey, Danny Ings and Ashley Young.
