Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg tipped to quit Tottenham after source’s £25m reveal – pundit
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be leaving Tottenham this summer with Antonio Conte “planning a busy transfer window”, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 26-year-old has “served his purpose” for the north London side.
A recruitment source told this site yesterday (21 February) that Roma are planning to make a summer move for Tottenham midfielder Hojbjerg as long as Jose Mourinho is still their manager.
Spurs value the Denmark international at around the £25million mark.
Hojbjerg was on the radar of Mourinho last summer, as first revealed by Football Insider last May (2021).
Whelan hinted that Conte could be planning a big window of spending after his January disgruntlement.
“I think he’s served his purpose for Tottenham,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“When a new manager like Conte comes in, he will have assessed what he wants and what he does and doesn’t need out of the squad he has.
“Although he had a massive game against Man City the other day, his energy levels and aggression were top-class – he didn’t leave anyone alone.
“But I think Conte realises there is only a couple of spaces in that midfield and he’s obviously planning a busy transfer window.
“He’ll be surplus to requirements in the summer, but it’s good to see him being utilised in the meantime.”

Hojbjerg has played 32 times for Tottenham this season, scoring three and adding three assists.
Conte’s side sit eighth in the Premier League after recording a famous 3-2 win over leaders Man City on Saturday (19 February).
