Pundit can’t believe Man United after Sky update on Adrian Rabiot

Man United are trying to sign Adrian Rabiot because they have lost their ability to attract top players.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the reported Red Devils’ target.

On Wednesday (10 August), Sky Sports reported Man United’s interest in signing Juventus midfielder Rabiot, 27.

The same outlet compared key stats from Rabiot and McTominay over the last 12 months.

McTominay beat out the former PSG Man in pass completion, progressive carries and progressive passes, all per 90 minutes.

Kenny insists the move for Rabiot smacks of desperation.

“I saw some stats between McTominay and Rabiot,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“McTominay actually had better key stats over the last 12 months or however long it was. So, it’s one of them, I don’t know what they are going for.

“It seems like it is desperation from Man United. It doesn’t look like there is a plan in place in terms of, right, this is who we are going for.

“There are players who they have been interested in and they haven’t been able to pull those off. At the end of the day, Chelsea have Champions League.

“Man United have no pulling power. They used to be the best of the best now they are second, third, or fourth in the queue.

“That is something they will have to get used to.”
